Why I Keep Going Back to Greece: A Travel Agent’s Love Letter to the Islands

Greece has my heart - and if you've ever stood on a whitewashed balcony overlooking the Aegean with a wine glass in hand, you’ll understand why.

From lazy lunches in beachfront tavernas to breezy afternoons under the sun, this country wraps you up in sunshine and lets you really slow down.

I’ve travelled all over Europe, but Greece keeps calling me back. The light, the people, the simplicity of life lived beautifully.

Each island has its own personality. Some are sleepy and soulful, where time slows and the loudest sound is the clink of your glass or the goat bells in the distant hills. Others are alive with colour and culture. Think bougainvillea laden alleyways, the smell of grilled octopus, and music floating through the air. Whether I’m sipping a freddo cappuccino in a seaside café or wandering cobbled streets with no real plan, there’s this constant feeling of being exactly where I’m meant to be.

One of my favourite things is the ease of island hopping. With a bit of local know-how (and some planning magic), it’s so simple to wake up in Paros and be watching the sunset in Santorini. Each ferry ride feels like a new chapter - no stress, no rush, just the sea and the sense of adventure pulling you forward.
